UPPP/Sinus Post Op Day 8

Posted by Dawn W on June 29, 2002 at 21:58:05:

I wanted to take this opportunity to thank those of you who have responded to my messages with your words of encouragement. I have found this forum extremely helpful. Before my surgical procedure, and after.

I continue to improve daily. I am now eating half way regularly. I was able to eat a barbeque sandwich today and a barbeque sandwich never tasted so good! I tried some onion rings but the breading was too hard on my throat. Of course I'm trying to eat all the food I dreamed of for a week when my diet consisted only of popsicles and tylenol 3!

I feel very good. For me personally, the Tylenol 3/Codeine kept me fairly stagnet. Now that I have taken it a maximum of once a day for a few days, I am able to do everything as before instead of vegetating on the couch.

So far, I am glad I made the decision to have the UPPP, Antrostomy, Ethmoidectomy, and Turbinectomy. My nasal passages are much clearer already.

One of the reasons I wanted to proceed with the surgery, beside the fact of the sleep apnea, was my terrible snoring. My snoring was affecting my relationship with my fiance, as he could not sleep in the same room with me, and has not been able to for months. The first night after surgery, was the first night in months that we actually slept in the same room! If I snore at all now, it is very light. If this is the ONLY thing I get from surgery, it was definately worth it.

I will stop posting daily now and will check in later this week in case anyone is following for reference.

If any questions, don't hesitate to ask. Thank you so much for the responses. If you are one who is preparing for surgery, I wish you much luck!

Dawn
