1.the first week you cant take it out to clean you will use a sucktion machine to clear your trach.
rmember put catherter down first the as you pull it out put you thumb over the catherter hole so it will suck out the flem,if you put it dowm with yor thumb over it putting in you will suck the air out of you lungs and that sucks.
next always keep!!! it clean around your new trach that was put in and after that clean the area 1 inch around the area.
2.swallowing no problem at all !
3.as soon as you get out of surgery it will take two to three hour to get your head togeather!so if you have people there you will not feel like taking to them.but after that the same day you can get up and walk around and you will feel fine.
oh!do this when the nurse is not around because they tell you to stay in bed and thats a bunch a bull!like my grandmother said if you dont start moveing around after sugery you stiffen up ha ha he he!
allso before you go the will show you how to take care of the trach and it will be at that time when they will have you look into the mirror and change the gause !now dont freak out you will have a cut 4 to 5 inches wide with a tube there!
the do not stich it up,they let it heal by it self.
but in the long run you will feel good sleep better at night.
so take care.
from the man that had uppp ,tonsill, nosejob done
and of couse trach wich change things
