Thanks for the advice. Say you mention you have a Montgomery trach. I have a no7 Jackson, I have heard others say they have a different name. Is there a place to see what the difference is? I know mine is a stainless steel trach with no cuff or fenestration (sp?). Is that the difference maybe? I have had mine out for about an hour or so to allow the stoma to air out as per the doctor's instructions (twice a day), come to think of it now that you mention it, he did not say how long to keep it out. He did tell me that my flap trach would not close on me, but I worry anyway... LOL. Also some times it goes in with no chocking at all, other times, I gag for a while. The gag reflex goes away though after a while. I have had some very good rest with this and its getting better. Still tired some from all the surgery ect. My blood pressure has dropped 20 plus points (from 150/95 to 114/70) so I take that as a sign that my body has less stress now.

I will keep learning and visiting here, soon I will be a vetran trach user LOL.

Thanks to all and if any body wants to ask me a question, just go ahead. I will try to monitor this site at least once a week and will post a response.
