I couldn't agree more. In fact, one of the biggest differences I've noticed is that I can swallow pills significantly easier without those huge tonsils than I could with them. Even if my sleep hypopnea does return, I'm still glad I had the surgeries, as they've improved my daily living significantly. Also, my doctor did tell me that surgery was only effective about half the time...but, he also told me that if I lost about 20 lbs (don't have much else to lose) in addition to the surgery, I should be okay...mainly because it is hypopnea, not apnea, because I didn't start having sleep problems until around the time we think my septum became deviated and tonsils started enlarging (he said the two are related), and because I'm so young. I figure I'll just have to wait and see, but I'm certainly praying all the above is effective!
