1) Where are you when you smell smoke?

2) Can you identify what "type" of smoke it is, wood, tobacco...?

3) How long ago did you have your surgery?

Your sinuses may be more sensitive now and you're smelling cigarette smoke on other people's clothing. I doubt that a UPPP could 'rewire' your olfactory nerves to give you false signals.

I've heard that sometimes you're more sensitve to odors for up to a year after sinus surgery. That's hopefully all this is.
