I agree - for someone of your age to potentially have to live with this for the rest of your life, it is totally worth it to see the best people now. Or at least demand that your doctor consult with them. You have so many years ahead of you - it's so important to get the best possible options for your long life. My heart goes out to you to have to deal with this at such a young age, but you are young and resilient and that gives you options for treatment that would be too stressful for older folks. Good luck and keep us posted.
