Thrilled to find this site! Want more info!

This is my first visit to this site and I am amazed at all the different surgeries everyone is talking about and how much everyone seems to know! When I was diagnosed with OSA a few years back my doctor scared me to death describing the surgery I would need, moving my jaw forward, wired shut, baby food, etc. I did not have this surgery, but instead tried a CPAP machine which did not work at all! So basically I am untreated. I am hoping someone out there has the time to fill me in on all the acronyms and procedures I have read about on this site: UPPP, BOT, MMA (phases??), Somnoplasty, Septoplasty, LAUP, UPF, GA, HA, etc. Also, I haven't heard anyone mention their "apneo index" rating, mine is apparently mild at a 39 and I according to my two sleep clinics I wake up about 440 times a night. Is this truly a mild case of OSA? I would appreciate anyone's opinions or comments. Thanks!
