It's good news that you have a PPO. I would definitely look into a trip to Stanford. You have had all of the phase 1 procedures. According to the Stanford protocol, all that remains untreated is the base of tongue. I had the UPPP/GA last year. This year I was shown pictures from my fiberoptic exam. My airway was WIDE open after the UPPP/GA, except for this massive piece of tongue. I had the MMA in July. You can search my posts on it, but suffice to say that it was not as painful as the UPPP. I am pushing for a cure. STanfords protocol is to "treat for a cure". I see the machines as a back-up if all else fails. I slept OK with the machine unless I had a cold. I just could not see being on one for the rest of my life if there was a cure out there.
