Yep, I had it in conjunction with the UPPP and tonsilectomy, so I couldn't tell you what worked best for me. For that matter, none of us could, because it all depends on where your obstruction is. It was the least painful part of that triple whammy procedure, however, and healed the quickest. My father in law had it done separately, and experienced very little discomfort. My apnea seems to have diminished, his hasn't. Your doctor (hopefully) is the person who can make the most informed decision on that. Some other people talk about having their throat 'scoped' - did your doctor do this? Something that goes through your nose to take a look inside the throat...anyone?...?....I didn't get that, but apparently it is one of the diagnostic tools often used.
