You have given such goo advice to all the postings I have seen so far, I thought I had better send something too!
I have had symtoms of CFS for about 8 years now, and although I have been able to hold down a full time job, it has got progressively harder and harder to summon up the energy to get out of bed. Luckily, I have had fair employers...Anyway, I have had two sleep studies done, mainly because I have scared my hubbie quite a few times by stoping breathing for a bit. That, plus my legendary snoring has sent him downstairs on the sofabed permanently. Even the neighbours, I have been told, have banged on the wall. I wake up frequently, have very vivid nightmares (Stephen King would have a field day!), sweat profusely, and the bed looks like a battle has taken place in the morning. Anyway, I am waffling - sorry. The first sleep study was done in a grotty room at a very old hospital in the West Midlands. They hooked me up with a finger probe and mask, and left me. The results, apparently, were normal, but another one was done a couple of years later by another hospital which allowed me to take a home tester (probe only). The results were normal!
Last week, my employers sent me to a Occupational Health consultant as my sick days are averaging about a month a year, and he says that my CFS is sleep apnea. More tests I presume will come, but I am wondering just how close the two problems are, and if it is Sleep Apnea, and the NHS is as slow as it usually is, what can I do in the meantime for myself, without these wonderous masks everyone is wearing.....Oh, and I am folic acid defficient!
Please help!!!
