I think it is because more doctors are familiar with CPAP than dental devices. It may also have to do with more people being helped by CPAP than the device.

Last night was my first using the device and it did help. Whether or not it is THE answer time will tell. They are NOT cheap. Mine was nearly $1000 just for the device. A rip-off I'm sure but what can you do. I certainly wouldn't want to risk my health on something I built with hardware parts.
