Just had mine done on 9-4-02.....for the first couple of days you will not feel like eating at all, but make sure you drink water or some other type of fulid....don't let yourself become dehydrated.

Stock up on--Broth (get the low salt kind or you will pay for it)---Jello---Pudding.

It is going to hurt---so get stocked up on your pain medications and start taking them as soon as you get home from surgery. Don't try and save your pain medication--TAKE THEM as perscribed..if it says every 4 hours take it every 4 hours---It is easer to control the pain if you have a constant supply of medication already in your body.

Make sure you have someone to take you home from the hospital...you will not be in any shape to drive.

When you get home...find something good on TV...take some pain medication...have a glass of water (or better yet a gallon jug) beside the the recliner---sit back and enjoy yourself as best as you can. TAKE IT EASY.

Good luck and keep us posted
