Would like to try something else!

I had a trach put in in 1977 for OSA. I have never had any surgery or any of the meds that are on the market today to treat this. I am a very large lady, 5'3" 300+ lbs. The trach was ok for the first few years however, as I put on even more weight my doctor kept stepping up the size of my tube because my O2,s were becoming worse and worse. For the last 3&1/2 years I have been using a size 10 trach that is special made because of my neck being so short. To make a long story short, the tub is so large until I don't take in enought air around it to allow for speach now with so many advances I feel as if I am being cheated! At the time I was trached it was about the only treatment now with so may more, I would like to be able to read to my Grandchildren or sing them to sleep. I would like to hear form someone that has some advice about this or maybe has had another treatment and not trached anymore. My team of doctors seem to think there is no point in trying.
