Posted by JEB on September 13, 2002 at 06:17:58:Hi
I'm a snorer. I've gone through the system and I'm now at the stage where I'm on the waiting list for a Sleep Endoscopy ( Waiting List = Brit Healthcare system).
Apart from the snoring ( which means that I can't sleep in the same room as my wife), I don't have any of the serious symptoms described on this Bboard.
The surgeon reckons that it's most likely that I'll need a UPPP.
My wife has had some really nasty experiences with operations and general anasthetics, so she's terrified of me undergoing any anasthetic for just the snoring. After reading some of the medical material on the Net I'm starting to wonder.I'm starting to wonder if, since my wife and I are really happily married, should I take the risk of changing so much for the worse.. UPPP possible side effects/ Anasthetic risks etc). (My wife would find even heavy breathing a problem , so no guarrantees that we'd end up sleeping together.)
I'm posting this Question, cos the people on here have been through it and out the other side.
Thanks in advance.
