tonsillectomy and uppp

Posted by altitude on September 13, 2002 at 06:48:43:

Had my tonsilectomy/uppp procedure yesterday. Dr. said minimal bleeding during operation. He use a YAG laser so I'll have no stitches. When I woke up I felt like there were two spurs in my throat but was able to swallow slowly. Had ice water all day...sipping 2 whole cups over 8 hour period. Funny I was scheduled to stay overnight at the hospital but they had no beds...sent me home to my loving wife who is also an ICU nurse. Had a slight headache before leaving hospital, got some pain meds. didn't take any before bed- woke upthis morning feeling tired but better. waitied 2 hours before taking another dose of meds...roxacet is my med for pain. So far so good.
slightly off topic but relevant .....3 wekks ago started weight watchers, have lost 10 lbs. so far on the point system plan...very easy to follow....all math eat what you want....sensible. the weight loss will help with eliminate my apnea also. I recommend it to all who want to lose some pounds.
I'll keep you posted....
