2nd thoughts on surgery here any helpful succeses

I have been tested and have severe Sleep apnea. The doc says laser will not work he wants to go in and remove tonsels, Shorten Uvuala and scim thraot. My questions 1.Has this worked for anybody? 2. What kind of recovery time has been experienced(# of weeks) 3. Does this affect the tone of your voice? 4. How long before I will be able to talk 8 Hours a day?
And anything else you can tell me
