I have to disagree about the surgerical route. Each case should be treated independently from each other case. Everyone is physically different thus the projected outcome would be different as well. As for me, my rdi was almost 90 in 1997. Some circles consider this as severe. I had somno tongue last year, hyoid suspension and genioglossus advancement this year and my rdi has measured from 40 to 60 in the three studies I have had done since. Due to my physical make up (6' tall, 188 lbs, very weak jaw line structure), I was told yesterday that I am a very strong candidate for the phase II protocol and have a greater than 90% chance of beating this. My suggestion is to get second and third opinions, find a doctor or team of doctors that you are comfortable with before making any choices.
