Found a surgeon in Utah who does MMA

Posted by rkf on September 20, 2002 at 04:59:21:

I had a consult with a surgeon in Salt Lake City yesterday. This guy seems pretty sharp, trained with the team at Stanford and has performed around 60 MMA surgeries with pretty much community wide results, over 90% success. After looking at my xrays, he said that even though my posterior airway is huge (16mm), the maxilo-mandibular deficiency is the most probable cause of still having OSA. He did some measurements and immediatly called Powell and Riley and discussed these measurements with them. He said they concuured with his preliminay call. I am scheduled for another visit with him in two weeks to discuss things after he has had a chance to make more thorough calculations. Maybe I can join the ranks of those who have beat this thing. The doctors name is Lane Smith and his primary background was facial reconstruction.
