I am probably heading for an mma, myself. The priliminary indications from the surgeon are that I am a prime candidate.

The amount of advancement varies from patient to patient. I was told that the soft tissue moves approx. half the distance the bone moves. Most surgeons will move the bone to a normal appearance (what ever that is), in my case about 5 to 10 mm. He said they do not move it far enough to give the face an ape like appearance unless the patient really needs that much advancement and is in complete agreement.

Good luck in what you decide.
