Sleepy,
I just recently had the MMA. My mood is way better and my memory seems better as well. I am dreaming more deeply and consistently. As to the alertness, it is better only intermittently so far. I have been told that improvement continues for up to 4 months after the procedure. I am testing in Nov. and hoping for good news. As to the cost: Not all of my bills have come back yet, but 70k might be plausible for the GA/MMA. In fact the surgery for just the MMA is 25 to 27k. The hospital probably gets about the same. If you add the GA, that's probably another 10k or so. Is there any chance of appealing the coverage issues? In the states it is covered due to the recognition that it is a life threatening condition.
