Flying post surgery

How soon has anyone flown after the tonsilectomy, etc? Did you have ear pain on the flight. I am 3 weeks post surgery and still have quite a bit of ear pain. I'm scheduled to fly in 2 more weeks and wondering if it will be a problem. Thanks!
