1 week post- op

Posted by rrossnh on April 01, 2003 at 08:37:34:

Had UP3 and septoplasty 1 week ago today. Painwise feeling pretty good, minor scratchy feeling in my throat that is quickly relieved by Roxicet liquid. The thing that is driving me nuts is the constant gagging feeling. I feel the need to try and hack up anything that is in my throat, still a lot of mucus being generated. Any suggestions on how to calm down the gagging feeling or is that just going to just get better with time? And how long can I expect to see the stitches in the back of my throat and where my palate used to be? Otherwise I sleep well and my sinuses are clear as a bell. I will try and work out a day by day posting later to chronicle my experience since day 1 of surgery. The postings I have read here have been very helpful, I only wish I had seen this sooner.
