UPPP day 2. Very lonely and scared

Posted by Andy on April 02, 2003 at 17:47:23:

If you've seen from my two previous posts I had the UPPP yesterday. I've been scouring this site for hours now trying to find some comfort. But I keep reading about stitches falling out and hemmoraging, and waking up bleeding, and not tasting food, and lumps in the throat that stay around for ages and the posibilities it may not do anything for my Apnea. Of course, I'm reading all this AFTER the surgery and AFTER researching UPPP and talking to a number of people who've had the surgery And now I'm getting very upset.
The fact that I live by myself and am all alone makes for a lot of worry and lonliness.
I think everthing will be alright, but I would LOVE some words of encouragement. Those of you who had the UPPP, I so much appreciate your feedback. But I really, really need to know if this is a good thing I did. I have moderate apnea (40) and snored a LOT and had a long uvula which got swollen a lot(which is now just barely there).
But right now, I'm just terrifying myself with reading all the negative experinces on this site...I know I know, I should stop doing that. But, I have been so miserable for all of my adult life (I'm 36) with bad nights of sleep, and keeping everyone awake from snoring, I had to do something. Someone PLEASE tell me it's gonna be OK.
thanks
