I just had mine (three days ago) and was in the hospital for observation for one night. I never used a CPAP so I'm probably not the best at offering advice for that realm. BUT, after reaing these pages for hours and hours, and talking to a number of people who had the UP3, I was encouraged by the number of positive experiences. I was very prepared for the pain (which, so far, isn't as bad as i'd expected) but I am trying to prepare myself for letting nature take its healing course. And having had my throat altered after 36 years will certainly be odd, I can only imagine. I hope you don't worry too much. Try to stay focused on all the positive feedback from these forums. There's a lot of truth there.
