dude, I had UPPP and tonsils done last week Tuesday and saw the doctor today. All seems to be fine. The white stuff is scar tissue and that's normal. In fact, it's good that it's white and not red, or bleeding. Take the entire course of antibiotics as prescribed and try not to irritate the scars. I made the mistake of getting back to solid foods a little too quickly (I felt fine and was really hungry...I mean REALLY hungry) and may have irritated them a bit.
As far as going back to work, I personally was ready after five days, but I've read of some people feeling like sh*t for up to 2 weeks. So play it by ear, but don't over-do it. The meds may make you feel better than you really are.
