UPPP and 2nd surgery

This is my first post here so please be patient.
My ENT has recommended 2 surgeries for me.
First to remove my uvula and excess tonsil tissue
Second to remove soft palate of tongue
Has anyone had this done as two different ones?
How much time between surgery?
ENT has suggested 2 for health reasons. Does not want to do too much and cause any complications. He says that it will take 2-4 months between depending on my heal time.
Any information would be helpful.
