This stuff gets SO complicated!!
I'm in Orlando at the moment, so I'm going from memory... but it seems like my O2 dipped into the 80s, but average was in the 90s. I had barely any REM sleep and spent most of the night in stage 2? The problem with the hypos was that they were causing spontaneous arousals.. Sleep was not refreshing. For me, it was something that HAD to be addressed. Did the septoplasty as well. I kept going back for sleep studies after each procedure to see if I was doing better... That's why I ended up with the UPPP, radiofrequency tongue reduction, etc... Depressing thing is that it didn't work (reduced from 210 awakenings to 170... yippie).
So.. I'm now on a dental appliance, just went for another sleep study and I'm under 50. YEA!!!
It never hurts to show the results to some other sleep docs either. Each seems to have their own "interpretation"....
That's what I remember anyway!
