To pass on my experience, when I had my UPPP/Tons... about 2 years ago, I recall that even after a week, I ate and drank so little because of how painful it was to swallow, that I eventually became very drowzy around day 7 or 8 that I went to the emergency room, and while waiting, I passed out onto the ground. I remember waking up with an IV in my arm. They emptied 2 IV bags in my arm in about 20 minutes. If he begins feeling hot and drowzy, let him know that he may pass out too and that he should get some help immediately....
