Everybody's experience is different and some people heal faster than others. I had the surgery done on a Thursday, took the entire next week off, then tried to come back for half days the following week. It didn't work out (had a lot of dizziness and started some bleeding from the throat area) so I took the entire second week off (fortunately I had bankrolled a lot of sick time).
