Finding a good doc for Sleep Apnea

Posted by Charlotte NC on October 04, 2004 at 17:33:15:

After I was diagnosed with sleep apnea a little over a year ago, I quickly experienced the frustration that many have had in getting good medical direction. Even after enlisting the help of my primary care doctor (whom I like and trust), I felt that I was coming up short getting the kind of experience that I believe this condition requires. I finally felt that I was going to have find the talent myself. I reasoned that I needed a doctor who has done significant research with sleep apnea.

I found a book on Amazon.com called "Snoring and Sleep Apnea". Many of the experts in the field have contributed chapters to the book. While the book itself is about $100, I found it worth the price, both to learn more about many of the surgical procedures available and to find the names of doctors. The book is written for other doctors, but I understood a lot of it and feel that I'm now much more informed.

Since the book helped me so much, I wanted to share with others.
