UPPP, Tonsillectomy, Deviated septum, and Turbinate reduction were all done in one surgery. My experience was that the nasal surgery was not painful at all. I had some very slight numbness for a couple of weeks, but that was it. Also, my surgeon put splints in my nose (instead of packing) that were removed a week after surgery. Packing would have made the recovery difficult. If I had to endure a plugged up nose on top of the intense throat pain, I would have gone nuts.
