I had a hyoid suspension (cut the neck and tie the hyoid bone forward and upward thereby changing the amount of tongue bas extending down the thoat) as a stand alone procedure. After 90 days, I had a genioglossus advancement( cut a rectangle of bone through the front of the jaw, pull it out with the tendons for the tongue, turn it 90 degrees, put it back and put a screw in to hold in place), also stand alone. Both helped the night time O2 desat but did nothing for RDI. Had the MMA (never had the UPPP) which cut the obstructive events fromover 60 and hour to 4 for 8 hours. He also removed the screw from the front of the chin and radiused the bone.
