I have never worn braces, neither before or after the MMA. I am one of those people that was lucky enough to have real nice fit before the surgery and everything fit okay after (not as good as pre-surgery but pretty good). The only problems I have had is certain combinations of letters (usually with the letter S or TH) sound a little odd if I get to talking too fast or don't concentrate on what I am saying something. Not enough to wish I hadn't had it done. Lately another minor inconvenience has surfaced. One of the screws that holds a plate for the upper jaw (directly below the corner of the nose) is leaving a slight bump above my front teeth. It isn't noticeable on my face, just inside my mouth. Again, not enough to cause any regrets.
