Nausea--vomiting from oral device?

Posted by Sleepy Time Time on October 08, 2004 at 11:06:49:

I used my appliance Monday night without incident.

I used it again Tuesday night. On Tuesday night, I also ate BBQ ribs from a nearby pizza joint (I know, this is not good for me, i dont usually eat ribs).

the next morning I awoke first with terrible diahhrea and then with violent vomiting. I noticed that the sticker on the container for the device says "discontinue use if you experience nausea or vomiting"

the vomiting got so bad that I went to the hospital suspecting food poisoning. the doc said it probably was indeed food poisoning, that he didnt think the device would cause that kind of violent reaction.

that was two days ago and I am still a bit unsteady

has anyone else ever experienced this kind of reaction from the oral appliance?
