Had my UPPP done last week under general. I think the only way general anestesia can be administered is through a trach tube, which means intubation.

I've had G.A. several times and haven't had any complications. I highly advise reading these forums throughly. There's a wealth of good info in here. I had my operation last Tuesday, and I stopped taking pain meds completely by Sunday afternoon. Good luck!
