I can't stress enough that you're going to need some TLC for the first few days. I'm a big guy with a fairly high pain tolerance, but this surgery takes it toll on you. For 2 days I woke up long enough to eat and drink a little something; take more pain meds; and go back to sleep. Fortunately I have a great wife and 2 caring Daughters.

I certainly don't want to scare you because the pain meds worked well, and I was never really too uncomfortable. But be prepared, and make sure you've got someone to take care of you for a few days.
