Mandibular Device

Posted by wantthistowork on October 14, 2004 at 07:58:44:

I recently was fitted with a mandibular device. I find it difficult to wear all night. ( I take it out in my sleep).
Also, if I do manage to keep it in all night, my top teeth (especially the front teeth) hurt the next day. I'm wondering if this is due to the fact that they took the impressions but, due to insurance problems, I didn't actually get the device until over 3 months later.

Could my teeth have moved enough to make the fit wrong in that amount of time? I should add that, without the device, I push my tongue against the back of my front teeth while I sleep and I do believe my teeth have moved because of that.

So, I guess my real question is, is it common for your teeth to hurt in the morning and will I eventually get used to this thing?
