I'm not sure where you're getting your information, but some of what you're saying is way out in left field.
THey are not designed for "back sleep". There are side affects such as jaw pain and tooth movement, but this is in a minority of patients.
To say that RDI only goes down 10 to 20% is also erroneous.
A simple google search will bring up a wealth of FACTUAL information about dental devices. The key is proper evaluation by a qualified, experienced dentist specializing in sleep dentistry.

but I'll say here that I have an RDI of 65 and a dental device is working EXCELLENT for me. I wont' say it works for everyone (that's where a proper evaluation comes in) but don't discount the idea without first researching the FACTS.
