Success Rate for Repeat UPPP???

Posted by Blessed on February 24, 2005 at 03:13:42:

3 years ago I had UPPP, tongue reduction, tongue tacked forward, deviated septum fixed, turbonate reduction, and polyps removed from the sinuses. I lost a lot of weight for a while, had serious scarover at the back of the mouth, and regurgitation through the nose for at least 2 years. Now I'm back to a small opening due to scar tissue, and weight gain, with moderate to severe apnea. I'm going in for another UPPP and tongue reduction. This time the surgeon is going to make a cut in the upper palate and tie the flap back.
Does anyone know if there are published statistics on the success rate of second UPPP procedures, such as this one? Has anyone had any success the second time around?
