RFK,

I'm amazed that anyone can work 10 days after an MMA. I was still drinking Ensure and had a total lack of focus (much less stamina) up to 3-4 weeks post-op.

The tongue depressors may be an interesting exercise. I'll have to try that. Besides yawning and doing my trout imitations, I have no formally prescribed exercises to increase my mouth opening.

I've already taken the initial steps to document medical necessity . Not only will I state that it vastly improves quality of life; but in my case the MMA will hopefully prevent related medical conditions and thereby save them much more in the future (by not treating Afib, right heart failure, etc...). I am encouraged to see your results. I know I'm in for a protracted letter-writing campaign.

Thanks, Bill
