Phooey,

Yes my apnea is cured. Yes , I feel better. Yes, my migraine headaches are gone. Yes, a major life-threatening problem has been wiped off the radar.

No, I don't always sleep through the night. I mostly do...but I am back to the "normal" patterns of sleep. Hot weather, big problems, restless puppy, etc... normal stuff will wake me up.

The MMA is a very positive thing in my life. It is not a panacea. It will not cure everything. It won't bring your memory back, make you a happier person, get you a new car, or make you more popular with new dates.

If you have any doubts or concerns about having this surgery, you should get a second opinion (as you seem to have done already) from another surgeon or center that routinely performs this operation. That will cost you very little and hopefully offer you peace of mind.

Waking up after a few hours on CPAP is not at all unusual. Many people have this issue...even those who use it successfully. I'd check into the TAP device...see if it will help. If it does great ! If not, it may put your mind to rest later on (so you can say I tried everything).

Good luck,

Bill
