Turb somno vs debulking / cautery

Posted by Thunder Bay on September 09, 2005 at 10:09:57:

A while back, Buckthron mentioned that "by debulking I mean the doctor hollowed the turbinates out and thereby reduced their volume"

So, this is a more effective, more successful method than coblation or somnoplasty? I have never heard of this one, or the bi polar cautery that Dreaming of Sleep mentioned -- so how do these other two methods rank in terms of effectivness and in terms of low side-effect rate? Compared to the somno?

Which is more invasive or more serious? I was going to get the somno done, but I am curious now about these others

I had read, I thought, that the somno or coblation was a better way to go than the re-section cos it is less severe and doesnt leave you with dried up nasal passages.
