I've had 3 somnos done on my turbs. They were fairly easy and almost painless.

Then the ENT debulked the turb with a micro debreeder. That was much more invasive and required packing for a week and heavy pain medication.

The latter surgery opened my nose significantly more than the somno.

The ENT said that by leaving the surface tissue alone it would help prevent that constant too dry feeling. For the most part it has done that.
