I just had a UPPP and tongue somno on Aug. 11.

Thus far my sleep continues to get better but I still don't spring from the bed with a song and a smile.

I have a bit of foreign body sensation but it's no big deal. It seems to be getting better. What I have noticed is that when I drink anything it feels like some remains on the roof of my mouth towards the throat. That's about where my uvula was tacked to the palate. So far no nasal regurgatation so that isn't an issue. The back of my throat seems sensitive to ketschup. It burns a bit.

I lost all sense of taste for a while but about 50% has returned. Hopefully it will all return. I think that came from the tongue somno but the ENT says he's never heard of that operation having that side effect.

Overall if the surgery doesn't lose it's effectiveness I'm satisfied.
