I agree that UPPP can have positive results. In my case, my apnea went from severe to mild/moderate. However, this only lasted a year or so.

Take this opportunity to get as healthy as possible. Weight can be a SIGNIFICANT contributor to OSA. Even if you don't get permanently cured by UPPP (unlikely) you can take advantage of the partial positive effects - which CAN be noticeable.

If you were needing the CPAP to function before, and are able to function now without it, that is a big difference.

In my case, my swallowing didn't get back 100% normal until 3 months afterward.
