I had my UP3 surgery 7/15 and still have some sore throat issues that may not be caused by the actual surgery. Currently, I am using Nystatin swish+swallow. I went into this surgery to help alleviate horrible 'mega' morning headaches. I have read on the web that these may have been a form of 'Cluster' headache brought on by OSA. At first my ENT was reluctant to operate citing, at best, a 50% success rate. Though, he realized people like me will do anything to avoid the C-PAP route. He thought this may have a better change for headache relief over Pillar. So far, no major headaches, though I think I still have OSA to some degree. My ENT stresses weight loss as a big help so I think you are right on target. Blood pressure is a bit lower as well. We'll see in February when I go for a follow-up sleep study. The fingers and toes are crossed.
