Depending on where you go, you may not need to save up $30K.
My surgeon offered a "cash" package - all costs including 2 nights hospital, paid up front (no hassle of insurance) - MMA+GA for $16K. Most sugeons will give a discount if they don't have to putz around with insurance companies and can get their fees up front, rather than many months later.
As I said in another thread, you may need to find out what things contribute to your OSA. MMA is best for "base of tongue obstruction" folks. Palatal and nasal surgery may help those who are "upper airway resistance" folks.
I had lifelong problems breathing through my nose. Although turbinate sugery did not cure my apnea, it made CPAP far easier to tolerate and definitely helped my daily health.
OSA doesn't seem to have one universal cause, but instead a bunch of factors that occur in differing amounts from person to person. Learn how these factors affect YOU.
