MMA - 1 week Dr. appt.

Best news. The X-rays look good. I knew that I had gotten a good result in terms of airway improvement, but it was a great relief to know that everything is where it belongs.

After one week, Dr. B says time for moist heat. Good thing, beause it is December in Wisconsin and I don't need more ice.

He said a sleep aid (Sonata, lunesta) is OK as long as I don't mix it with the vicodin. For now, I'll probably go with the pain killer at night, since rolling over can wake me up.

He wants me to stay on sudafed for another week and that the smelling related problems are probably caused by the remains of junk in my sinuses. Sudafed will help clear that all out.

He also OKed use of my exercise bike. Weather isn't too bad now, but if it gets colder, I can bike instead of walk. My Aussie likes walks, but I don't like blizzards.

Stitches will come out next week.

The arch bars have bent one of my incisors back, but that should fix itself when they are removed.

It is indeed my uvula which is tickling the back of my tongue, triggering the swallowing reflex about every 30 seconds - most of the night. That is why I asked about a sleep aid. I might need the shrinking of the uvula outpatient surgery. Later. It may go away when all the swelling is gone.

My left jaw is still pretty swollen, meaning that I can't get a good bite yet, since the swelling gets in the way. He expects that to fade by next week. I will start wearing bands again, unless they hurt, which is likely for the next week.

Took a look at the X-rays and the difference on airway passages is extreme. Basically had none before. The shots show the back and front litterally meeting. Now it is very wide. It seems like an echo chamber back there when I lay down. A veritable Niagara of air on its way to my lungs.
