I had tongue somno and a UPPP done in August. It did help but didn't completely cure my apnea. My ENT said that the UPPP might become ineffective but the tongue somno wouldn't lose effectiveness because it is a muscle.

I lost all of my taste shortly after the surgery. Most but not all of it has returned. My fingers are crossed.
