A consult doesn't mean surgery...it means an exam and a frank discussion with a surgeon there...usually one of the leading experts in the country. Hopefully with a Q&A session with lots of answers.

That'll set you back 500-1000.00, well worth it !

So, naturally, I say go !! Get a scope, an x-ray, have the guy review your data...and then proceed from there. Who knows, maybe he'll not recommend an MMA...or maybe his best med school buddy can perform an MMA for you in Phoenix.

Another suggestion. Have you looked into a dental TAP device (which advances your lower jaw forward at night) ? Many people find that this works for them when they have failed CPAP and are hesitant about surgery.

It seems like TAP devices are far, far more effective than an isolated somnoplasty or pillar.

Good luck,

Bill
